in nearby Denver -- just a 40 minute commute to downtown and the Denver Tech Center. While
others choose to both live and work in the mountain community. Sister communities include
Conifer and Aspen Park to the south and Genesee and Lookout Mountain to the north - with
many little alpine hideaways in between.
Founded around 1875, Evergreen has a colorful and interesting history. Back in the 1860's,
homesteader Thomas Bergen established a ranch and hotel on what was once the summer hunting
range for the Ute and Arapahoe Indians. Many ranchers, lumbermen and farmers followed,
harvesting the dense forests and supplying lumber for Denver's burgeoning construction
industry. By the 1920's, Evergreen had evolved into a popular summer resort for Denver
residents, catering to Hollywood movie stars and America's elite. As roads improved and
automobile travel became more prevalent, the identity of the town began to change. And by
the 1970's, Evergreen was established as a year-round commuter community.
All the best things in life seem to come together in Evergreen. Friendly people, breathtaking
mountain vistas, pine forests thick with wildlife, an abundance of recreational, social and
businesses opportunities, and gorgeous mountain homes. All within close proximity to the
amenities and services of the big city
With its welcome quality of life, tranquil mountain setting, and intimate community appeal,
